Mainsoft to Preview Social Networking Software Integration with Rational Team Concert

What:

Mainsoft® Corporation, a leading provider of Java EE-Microsoft® SharePoint® integration software, will preview seamless integration between Office® SharePoint Server's Social Networking capabilities and IBM® Rational® Team Concert.

Launched in Q1, 2009 and licensed by IBM Rational, Mainsoft Document Collaboration for Rational Jazz software connects IBM Rational Team Concert with enterprise collaboration environments based either on IBM Lotus® Quickr® or Microsoft SharePoint. It extends developers' collaboration capabilities with direct, per-project links to document libraries from an Eclipse document view, and it integrates IBM Rational Team Concert with document workflows, improving the transparency of software deliveries as well as automating and enforcing project governance.

Available Q4, 2009, Mainsoft's 2.0 software release will introduce features that connect software delivery teams to enterprise social networks, enabling developers to:

  • Access SharePoint "My Sites" from the team artifacts view, driving users to maintain a full personal profile in their enterprise social network.
  • Incorporate SharePoint Personal Profiles into Jazz user profiles. Within development teams, users can quickly access information such as people's skills, interests, memberships in informal networks and work groups, organizational hierarchy, and so on, by hovering over users' names.
  • Use SharePoint People Search from the IDE's Search menu, making it easy to locate and engage technical and business experts throughout the organization. Clicking on the search results page leads to users' My Site personal sites.
  • Open team wikis and blogs from within the IDE, for direct access to the team collaboration tools they already use everyday.
