Working With E-Mail

Mainsoft SharePoint Integrator offers you an easy way to save and access e-mail messages and attachments on SharePoint, as well as attaching documents from SharePoint to new messages. By saving e-mail messages on SharePoint you make them available to all SharePoint users, without using up disk storage space in the recipients' Inboxes. You can also search for any text inside e-mail messages, headers, and attachments.

The SharePoint button in the Notes Mail application.

The SharePoint button is an optional component, added to the Lotus Notes e-mail message tab, that gives you quick access to:

  • Attaching SharePoint documents to e-mail messages.
  • Saving e-mail messages to SharePoint.
  • Saving attachments to SharePoint.
  • Replacing attachment with SharePoint links for outgoing messages.

To have these features available, the Mainsoft Mail template must be installed. You need to replace the Mail application design with: Mainsoft SPI Mail (R<Notes version>) [<Language>]. To learn how, read Replacing the design of a Notes application.

Notes:

  • These functions are also available without the SharePoint button installed, by using drag-and-drop operations and the sidebar panel's document context menu.
  • If your Mail template is already customized, your Domino administrator will need to merge the SharePoint button into your existing Mail template. Instructions are available in the Administration Guide.
