Selecting Visible Columns

The Mainsoft SharePoint Integrator sidebar panel lists subsites, document libraries, folders, document sets and documents. By default, each item’s Type icon and Name are shown as columns in the list. When displaying the results of a Search operation, the Path property is also shown.

If you configured to view the library default SharePoint view when navigating, the view’s visible columns are displayed, and you cannot add or remove columns.

If you did not set the options to use the library default SharePoint view, you can make any document property visible as a column in the sidebar panel’s document list, as well as set the order of columns. Enabled columns that do not exist in the current library are automatically hidden.

To configure the visible columns:

  1. Click File > Preferences in the application menu, and select the SharePoint tab.
  2. Make sure that the Always show these column option is selected, and click the Visible Columns button to open the Visible Columns dialog. Here, all standard SharePoint document properties are listed, including e-mail specific properties.

    The Visible Columns dialog.
  3. Select the check boxes, to choose which columns should appear in the document list.
  4. Manage the list of visible columns by adding and removing properties that are available on your SharePoint site. You can Add… columns that are not listed in the Visible Columns dialog, and Remove… columns that were manually added.
  5. Use the Move Up and Move Down buttons to change the order in which the properties are displayed in the sidebar panel.
  6. (Optional) Set a fixed width for a column by selecting it and setting a value for Width of selected column (in pixels). The column width can also be modified by dragging or double-clicking the right edge of each column header in the document list.
