Integrating with Sametime for Instant Messaging
SharePoint Integrator supplies IBM Lotus Sametime presence awareness and instant messaging functionality in the SharePoint sidebar panel for Lotus Notes 8.0.1 and above. Columns that refer to users (Created By, Modified By, and Checked Out To) are displayed with Sametime presence awareness (Active, Away, Do Not Disturb, or Offline). Right-clicking the user name in the Sametime control brings up an instant messaging context menu, which lets you chat with other SharePoint users, send items, receive alerts on user presence, and so on.
You can send links to SharePoint documents in the Sametime chat window by pressing the Alt key when dragging a SharePoint document to the chat window.
Notes:
- The Sametime feature is not available in the standalone application.
- You must be logged in to Sametime for this feature to work.
- Dragging documents to the Sametime chat window requires that the administrator has enabled this Sametime feature.
- The setting Drag files instead of document links to Lotus Notes applications in the Preferences dialog does not affect the behavior of dragging SharePoint documents to the Sametime chat window.
