Mainsoft Extends the Availability of Visual MainWin for UNIX and Linux to 64-Bit Applications

Visual MainWin 5 supports 64-bit applications on Sun Solaris, Linux 64 and AIX

San Jose, Calif. - July 31, 2005 Mainsoft® Corporation, the cross-platform development company, today announced it has extended the availability of its flagship product, Visual MainWin® v. 5, for UNIX® and Linux® (C++) to support 64-bit applications. With Visual MainWin, software vendors can port 64-bit Visual C++ applications to Sun Solaris 8, 9 and 10 on SPARC, Sun Solaris 10 on AMD64, AIX 5 and Linux 64 platforms such as Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4.

"Leading software vendors want to take advantage of the performance, scalability and large memory available to 64-bit applications running on 64-bit UNIX and Linux platforms," said Philippe Cohen, Vice President of Product Development, Mainsoft Corporation. "While all 64-bit operating systems can execute 32-bit applications, only a true 64-bit application can tap into the power of 64-bit hardware, and this is what our customers can now do with the 64-bit edition of Visual MainWin v. 5."
