CA to use MainWin in its leading-edge enterprise management and information management solutions
Mainsofts Windows platform selected by CA
Sunnyvale, California - January 20, 1998 -Computer
Associates International, Inc. (CA) has chosen Mainsofts MainWin to rehost its
next-generation enterprise and information management solutions on Unix. Computer
Associates International, Inc. is the world leader in mission-critical business software.
The company develops, licenses, and supports more than 500 integrated products, including
enterprise computing and information management applications. CAs revenues exceeded
$4.6 billion in fiscal 1998.
Rather than write new code, Computer Associates chose to
use Mainsofts MainWin to rehost its Windows NT source code on Unix. MainWin also
provides the Windows platform that allows the rehosted application to run on Unix with all
Windows functionality.
"We chose MainWin because of its complete Windows
environment including COM and full Win32 support," said Marc Sokol, CA senior vice
president of advanced technology. "MainWin is promising technology that delivers the
Windows subsystem on Unix."
Mainsofts MainWin, the leading Windows platform on
Unix, automates rehosting Windows NT source code on Unix platforms, while maintaining the
functionality of Windows NT applications. MainWin-based applications have the robustness,
performance, and scalability of native Unix applications.
