Searching for content inside document sites

Note: This operation is not available in the Lotus Quickr edition of Document Collaboration for Rational Jazz.
Click the toolbar’s Search button to open a search bar, from where you can search for content in the current location.

Note: When the search Web Service is unavailable in the SharePoint site, the search button is disabled as well. The most common reason is that anonymous access is enabled on SharePoint. Instructions for how to enable search in Document Collaboration for sites with anonymous access are available in How to enable the search button in Mainsoft's SharePoint products.
Type a query in the search bar, and click the green arrow button, to search the current location. If the current location is a site, the site is searched; otherwise the current document library is searched. Search results are displayed inside the sidebar panel. The sidebar sorts the matching items in order of relevance, as defined by the document server.

Note: If the current location is a site, the setting for hiding subsites and workspaces determines if results from subsites and workspaces are displayed or not.
The document library search interface.

You can use the Visible Columns dialog to determine which columns are shown for the search results. By default, the Name and Path of each search result are shown. To open the Visible Columns dialog, select Window > Preferences… > Documents and click the Visible Columns… button.

Click the red search bar close button to return from the search results view to the previous location in the Documents view.

When selecting an item in the search results list, the Search Context pane shows you the context of the queried text within the document’s content. The status pane shows you the breadcrumbs of the selected item.

In addition to the regular context menu options, the search results list provides a menu option for opening the folder, document library, or site where the item is located.
