Mainsoft Document Collaboration for Rational Jazz v1.1 - Overview

Mainsoft Document Collaboration for Rational Jazz Mainsoft Document Collaboration for Rational® Jazz™ extends collaboration with direct per-project links to Microsoft® SharePoint® or Lotus® Quickr™ document libraries from Rational Team Concert™. Document workflows and approvals allow business stakeholders to impact the software delivery process using their familiar collaboration tools. Developers can locate, create, edit, and publish documents from the document view, and receive document updates using RSS feeds.

Main features

  • A new Documents folder in Team Artifacts, allowing you to:
    • Configure and browse through shared (project or team) and personal Document Sites, subsites and document libraries.
    • Subscribe to RSS feeds of document libraries for update notifications.
  • A new Documents view, allowing you to:
    • Navigate through multiple Document Sites, subsites, and document libraries, including navigation history and favorites handling.
    • Link documents to Rational Team Concert® work items.
    • Quickly access document workflow and approval features.
    • Drag documents into Rational Team Concert, or to the Desktop.
    • Initiate an instant messaging chat (IBM Lotus Sametime®, Google Talk®, Jabber®) with the author, most recent editor, or person who has checked out a document.
    • Create new documents, and modify existing documents on the Document Site.
    • Be prompted to check in documents and fill in required metadata.
    • Search Document Sites (Microsoft SharePoint edition only.)
  • Associating specific versions of documents in your document libraries to work items.
  • Integration of document workflows and approvals within the work item resolution process, using a new precondition.
  • No modifications are required to the document server infrastructure.

System requirements

The server component supports all operating systems supported by IBM Rational Team Concert: The client component supports all Windows operating systems supported by IBM Rational Team Concert: These are the required software components:
  • For Rational Team Concert 2.0.x:
    • Rational Team Concert 2.0.x, Enterprise, Standard or Express edition (the Enterprise or Standard edition is required for working with Related Document Workflow preconditions)
  • For Rational Team Concert 1.x:
    • Rational Team Concert 1.0, 1.0.1, or 1.0.1.1, Standard or Express edition (the Standard edition is required for working with Related Document Workflow preconditions)
  • Windows SharePoint Services (WSS) version 3.0, Microsoft Office SharePoint Server (MOSS) 2007, or Microsoft SharePoint Online. (for the Microsoft SharePoint edition)
  • Lotus Quickr Services for WebSphere Portal 8.1 or 8.1.1 (for the Lotus Quickr edition)
  • (Optional) Lotus Quickr Connectors (for the Lotus Quickr edition)
Note: Document Collaboration does not support Lotus Quickr Services for Lotus Domino.
