Getting started with Document Collaboration
This section details the steps that a first time user will take to evaluate and experiment with Mainsoft Document Collaboration for Rational Jazz. Before reading this section, you need to install and the product and, if applicable, configure your proxy settings. A free 60-day trial license will start when you first access the features in Document Collaboration.
To start working with Document Collaboration, you should grant user permissions and configure a document collaboration site for the Jazz project. Now, you can browse the site from Project Area > Documents > Shared Documents Libraries > Document Site Name. You can change the Document Site title, or configure it to point to another URL by right-clicking the site, and selecting Properties.
Mainsoft Document Collaboration for Rational Jazz adds a new Documents view to the Rational Team Concert Client. From here, you can perform common document library operations from the Rational Team Concert Client. To open the Documents view, expand the Document Site from the Team Artifacts view, and double-click a library. To learn how to use the SharePoint Documents view, read Working with the Documents view.
In addition to accessing document libraries from within the Rational Team Concert Client, work items can be configured with preconditions where linked documents need to be approved or have a workflow completed before the work item can be resolved as fixed.
