Mainsoft SharePoint Integrator for Lotus Notes 2.0 Preview 2 - Release Notes
Introduction
Mainsoft SharePoint® Integrator for Lotus Notes® version 2.0 Preview 2 is now available.
Mainsoft SharePoint Integrator is a plug-in for Lotus Notes that provides instant access to SharePoint document libraries from the Lotus Notes sidebar. It enables Lotus Notes users to easily share documents attachments and e-mails to SharePoint.
The Preview 2 release introduces support for Lotus Notes 8.5 and as well as the ability to federate SharePoint calendars within Lotus Notes.

Preview limitations
Preview 2 unveils some of the features that are going to be available in the final 2.0 release. Several functionalities are not feature-complete in the Preview 2 build. Here is a list of features included in the Preview release, and what will be included in the GA release:

Known issues
You are required to refresh the SharePoint event after editing the event's custom metadata. Until you refresh, you will not be able to save additional changes to the SharePoint event details from the event form.
System requirements
- Lotus Notes 8.5.x Standard Configuration (the final 2.0 release will support Lotus Notes Standard and Basic Configurations from version 6.5 and above).
- The SharePoint calendar federation feature is supported only in Lotus Notes 8.5.x Standard Configuration, and requires the Lotus Notes 8.5.x Mail template.
- Microsoft Windows Vista Business, Enterprise, or Ultimate Edition; Microsoft Windows XP Professional with Service Pack 2 or later.
- Windows SharePoint Services (WSS) version 3.0, or SharePoint Server (MOSS) 2007.
Installation instructions
Installing the integrated sidebar for Lotus Notes 8.5, Standard Configuration
- Download the Mainsoft SharePoint Integrator for Lotus Notes plug-in NSF file.
- Open the plug-in NSF file (double-click) and follow the installation wizard instructions.

Upgrading from previous versions
Installation of version 2.0 Preview 2 on top of the previous version will upgrade your installation to the new version.
Checking for new updates from Lotus Notes
From Lotus Notes, you can leverage the Eclipse update manager for checking, downloading, and installing new SharePoint Integrator updates. To check for new updates from Lotus Notes, perform the steps below. Read the Enabling user-initiated update with EUM section in the Domino documentation for information about the Eclipse update manager.
Manual checking for new updates
- Select the File > Application > Install menu action.
- Select Search for updates of the currently installed features option and click Finish.
- Follow the installation wizard instructions.
Automatic checking for new updates
- Select the File > Preferences menu action.
- Open the Automatic Updates preference page from the Install/Update category.
- Set Automatically find new updates and notify me and click OK.
Getting started
Registering SharePoint sites
First, you need to register the SharePoint sites that you want to access from Lotus Notes. You can do this via the SharePoint Integrator Preferences dialog, as follows:
- Click the Add Site button to register a new site. In the Add or Edit SharePoint Site dialog, supply the SharePoint site URL, and a user name and password that will be used to access the site.
- Click the Test Connection button to verify that the connection succeeds.
Federating SharePoint calendars in Lotus Notes
You can access events directly on SharePoint from the Lotus Notes client using SharePoint Integrator. Team calendars on Microsoft SharePoint can be added to Lotus Notes, as follows:
- Open the Calendar application in Lotus Notes.
- Expand Show Calendars in the left-side pane, and click Add a Calendar.
- Select SharePoint Calendar from the list of calendar types.
- Click the Lookup… button and browse to a calendar from any of the registered SharePoint sites.
