Installing the Mainsoft Mail template to activate the SharePoint button

This article applies to harmon.ie, Notes Edition, only.

The SharePoint button is an optional component, added to the Lotus Notes e-mail message tab, that provides quick access to useful e-mail features.

Installing or upgrading the Mainsoft Mail template

  1. Download the Mail template file that matches your Notes version to your Notes data directory.
    Your Notes data directory is defined in your Notes Preferences, in Basic Notes Client Configuration, under the Local application folder.

  2. From the Notes Mail application, select the File > Application > Replace Design menu.

    Note: If this menu option is not available, enable the Lotus Notes application menu option View > Advanced Menus.

    If this menu option is still not available, you may not have the required Designer permission to replace your Mail template. If this is the case, contact your Domino administrator to enable user-initiated updates and refer to the Administration Guide.

  3. In the Replace Application Design dialog, select Show advanced templates.
  4. Select the Mainsoft SPI Mail (RX.X.X) mail template, and then click Replace.

The Lotus Notes status bar confirms that the process succeeds, with the confirmation message: Design replace completed.

Note: If your Mail template is already customized, your Domino administrator will need to merge the SharePoint button into your existing Mail template. Instructions are available in the Administration Guide.
