Features enabled by the Mainsoft Mail template
This article applies to harmon.ie, Notes Edition, only.
Installing the optional Mainsoft Mail template in Lotus Notes enables the SharePoint button in the Mail message toolbar.

The SharePoint button gives the user access to additional features in harmon.ie:
- Replace attachments with SharePoint links for outgoing messages
- Get improved accessibility for common SharePoint operations around e-mail
Note: The SharePoint calendar integration functionality does not require deployment of the Mainsoft Mail template but just the regular Notes 8.5 Mail template.
Replace attachments with SharePoint links
From the SharePoint button, the user can override the default behavior of the Replace Attachments with SharePoint Links feature for individual messages. He can enable or disabled the feature, and set the location where attachments are uploaded.
The Mail template also enables the SharePoint > E-mail Settings section in Preferences, where the default behavior for outgoing attachments is defined.
Note: The replace attachments feature can be emulated without the Mail template by dragging attachments to the sidebar and the dragging the uploaded SharePoint documents to the message body.
Accessibility improvements for drag-and-drop operations involving e-mail
The SharePoint button gives the user additional ways of publishing e-mail messages and attachments on SharePoint as well as referring to SharePoint documents in messages. From the message tab the user can:
- Attach a SharePoint document to an e-mail message.
- Link to a SharePoint document from an e-mail message.
- Save the e-mail message on SharePoint.
- Save attachments on SharePoint.
Note: These operations are also available without the Mail template by using drag-and-drop or clipboard operations. Without the Mail template, the user can only publish messages on SharePoint from the folder view (e.g. the Inbox).
