Differences in search results using Mainsoft SharePoint Integrator vs. the Web interface

Issue:

While both Mainsoft SharePoint Integrator and SharePoint Web Interface use the SharePoint Indexing service, there may be instances when you will find more search results using the SharePoint Web Interface versus using Mainsoft SharePoint Integrator.

Cause:

Regardless of whether you use Mainsoft SharePoint Integrator, which provides a rich client interface to SharePoint services, or you use the Web interface, search results will include files and documents stored in SharePoint document libraries, document library names, sites, and sub-sites. All results have a context menu for providing access to SharePoint functionality, such as check-in and check-out, version history, and metadata information.

In situations where the search results contain a link to an .aspx or an .html page rather than a link to the image itself, the browser will enable you to follow the link by clicking it. On the other hand, when searching from Mainsoft SharePoint Integrator, the only results displayed contain actual documents and document libraries, not .aspx or .html pages.

This behavior is intended to ensure that all search results in Mainsoft SharePoint integrator are intuitively accessible to the end user, via the context menu, to manage metadata and version information, handle check-in and check-out operations, etc.
