Configuring a social network server

Each Rational Team Concert™ user is mapped to a social network user on Lotus Connections®. Once mapped, users can access and create social network data from the Rational Team Concert Web interface, and view context-sensitive social information in a pop-up business card.

Note: The currently logged in user needs Lotus Connections permission to add members to the community for these mapping operations to succeed.

Configuring a social network server

  1. On the top bar in the Rational Team Concert Web interface, click your name and select Edit Profile.
  2. Open the Social Network tab, and fill in the empty fields:
    1. URL (Internet address) of the Lotus Connections server. You can connect to servers running Lotus Connections 2.0.1 and 2.5. The URL must include the protocol prefix (http:// or https://). Both the standard HTTP and secure HTTPS protocols are supported, but using the HTTPS protocol is recommended.
    2. User name and password to log in to the Lotus Connections server.

Note: If you do not have access to a Lotus Connections server, you can use the default URL, which points to My developerWorks social server. Create a free IBM account to log in to it.

  3. Save your changes.

You can copy your photo from the Lotus Connections server to your Rational Jazz user profile, by clicking the Copy this photo to my Jazz profile link.

Read Configuring proxy settings if the communication with Lotus Connections requires proxy configuration.
